In the Burrell Cancer Institute, our inter-disciplinary teams of experts and the latest technology are all gathered in this facility so that patients and doctors have easy access to any capabilities they need.
The caregivers of the inpatient Oncology Unit have highly specialized skills to see patients through cancer treatment and the compassion to make them feel as comfortable as possible. The Institute is equipped with sophisticated medical equipment for monitoring patients and managing pain.
Oncology services include:
- A diagnostic center with modern medical technology for detecting all types of cancer.
- A full range of treatment services including radiation therapy, lymphedema services, outpatient infusion therapy, chemotherapy, blood transfusion and hyperthermia.
- A dedicated Breast Care Center and massage therapy services.
- Cancer screening clinic with comprehensive cancer screening programs and periodic free screening clinics throughout the year.
- Comprehensive outpatient and inpatient surgical services.
- A 21-bed oncology unit, including a family room with kitchenette and other amenities for loved ones.
- Support services such as pain management, counseling and spiritual care.

The Burrell Cancer Institute of Saint Anthony Medical Center offers a "Cancer Hotline" as a free community service.
The hotline calling hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and its intent is to answer some basic questions and concerns the public might have on cancer-related issues and services. Referrals to staff physicians or other appropriate sources will also be made available. But the hotline does not offer any medical diagnosis.
